Thank you for the ADD and here is my ISO & the story that goes with it.
I have never had any interest in finding my birth parents I love my adoptive parents
and always felt it would be disrespectful to look, (although my adoptive parents
have always let me know they are perfectly fine with me searching). About 5 years
ago, I started having a lot of major health issues and has since then, talked about
finding my birth parents to at least get some medical/health history but at the same
time, I think i am nervous because I have not done anything concrete to find them.A
few months ago, I started searching, but am not finding much as MN is a closed
adoption state
adoptive name is David Arthur Marks
DOB 24/04/1963
Minnesota USA
birth mother is only 13 years older than him. The adoption was through a Catholic
Charities
adoptive sister was born in WI. (adoptive parents lived in MN at the time).
6 months old when adopted (but that’s not to say I was with birth mother, likely in
foster care.)
I have done some searching on line as well as searching birthdate on ancestry (long
and tedious) it seems that if I search ‘baby boy” with birthdate the results are
babies that did not live – if I search just birthdate with “male” checked off with
birthdate i get both parents which infers that the child was not adopted out. I’ve
checked some online search sites but it appears there are not many birth parents
searching – mostly adopted children.
I will update with any new information I find – any help is greatly appreciated! TIA
